Frequently asked questions

Tranquilo stands for calmness or peace. We strive to provide a calm, stress free, peaceful and relaxing environment.

We currently offer Acupuncture, Mental Health Services, and Manual Therapy services. We have licensed acupuncturists, psychotherapists, and kinesiologists providing these services.

Please see our team or services to learn more.

Unfortunately, our services fall under paramedical or extended healthcare, and are not covered by OHIP.

Yes – our services are delivered by trained and licensed practitioners. We are covered by workplace insurance plans and extended healthcare benefits.

Unfortunately, at this time, we do not offer direct billing. We provide a receipt through email after every visit. This can easily be sent for reimbursement through your workplace or private insurer. Most insurers have online portals where you can submit our receipts for reimburstment.

This really depends on your insurance policy. If you are using workplace benefits, your company will partner with a third party insurer. The insurer will outline your benefits and levels of coverage.

Please check your benefits booklet or call your insurer for more details. Most insurers have an online portal that contains your benefits booklet or portal. This usually outlines your coverage.

If you are getting stuck, please contact us to discuss further. We can help you figure out how much coverage you have.

For acupuncture, we accept cash or e-transfer. For mental health or manual therapy, we accept e-transfer or credit card (on file).

You can check our practitioners availability and book an appointment. Some practitioners require you to call before you can book. Others can be booked directly online.

Please give us a call as early as you can to reschedule any booked appointments. Our practitioners are generally fully booked. We understand life happens and are generally accomdative to our patients’ busy schedules.

We kindly ask that you do your best to avoid last minute cancellations. This is to ensure everyone gets fair and appropriate access to care. Your cancellation may help another patient get the help they need if done ahead of time.

Our practitioners’ livelihoods depend on your visits. They sacrifice a lot to ensure you get the best quality care possible. We normally charge a $50 no show fee to compensate our practitioners for lost time. Tranquilo does not keep any of this.

However, we understand that unexpected circumstances may arise. We are very open to accommodating emergencies and unforeseen circumstances. Please contact us immediately in any case.
